Hi guys I got an offer from Microsoft US but it couldn't go through because of Visa. Microsoft introduced me to team in India and the team was interested in extending an offer in India. I know salaries in US shall be scaled down to India standards, but I was wondering if somebody had to make a similar move. How was various components of salary negotiated?
Deloitte v Microsoft ? And you're trash talking ! Lol ! Respect to OP and just the opposite for you
Askt them for different countries. Why India? Where are you now?
No, I am perfectly happy with India (family in India too) Currently in US
Good choice op. I would have done same thing. India only.
@op do you mind sharing what was the problem with visa? Was transfer rejected?
DM me, please
“I know salaries in US shall be scaled down to India standards” This is just non-sense. You get paid w.r.t the location. Your experience and time is far more important than spending your life behind this idiot immigration system.
I agree about the idiotic immigration system. And scaling down Indian salary is a fact not my opinion.
It is not a fact. You cannot look at your pay by converting usd to inr. The living standards are not same for both the place.
Dude, when did living standards came into picture? I'm comparing absolute numbers. Im aware of how purchasing power parity and all works. I lived in India for 26 years so please save a lecture on comparing apples and oranges. I asked a simple question around how that conversion works not what your interpretation of 'scaling up or down' means
What’s the level being offered? Hard to give numbers without that information You should definitely negotiate the relocation package (Microsoft gives at least 20k$ non taxable on relocation from the US)
The relocation for India to US post tax is about 27k from what I heard. Now sure about vice versa. I assume itd be relatively less as the rent and other stuff in India is much less
Hahaha
How dare you laugh. Poor guy, I feel sad for folks not getting visa.
Laugh at self, OP got offer from Microsoft which speaks to their potential !
