Remote TC?

I’m considering the jump to full-remote, but I can’t really find any compensation info—every request for TC I see goes ignored and levels.fyi comes up pretty dry. (GitLab calculator is neat and appreciated though.) Yes, I know that: - FB is optional wfh till 2021 - TC is dependent on location I applied to a few remote positions and recruiters from GitHub and InVision immediately (<1d) responded to set up chats. So basically, if youre 100% remote (or have been) I’m asking for any datapoints. I know it will be a huge TC drop, but am trying to determine if it’s an acceptable one. Feel free to generalize location; eg listing metro instead of city, or state instead of metro. If it matters, targeting whatever level is “Senior Software Engineer” at these companies. TC 370k

Thanks! Can you give location too? As general so as not to doxx yourself, eg if you’re the only one in a small Kansas town maybe just “Kansas”

Thats is the average for a senior software engineer at MSFT. I could have tried harder negotiating tatics but was happy I got remote. For Microsoft anyways you csn expect the average offer if you get level 63 or 64 between 220k to 270k, regardless where you decide to live as a remote. The hard part with Microsoft outside GitHub they yet to have a way to search for remote positions. DevDiv is the most remote friendly, but with everything going on I am hoping more managers open up to remote in the company.

Fully remote at Mozilla. 20yoe. 180tc living in small college town (4x local average salary). Low TC compared to the bay, but beautiful area and low cost of living.
