If you're renting I would like to know 1) how you do it - directly from Landlord or from property manager 2) How has been your experience? I'm exploring rentals in LA. Landlords have been flaky as fuck. Wanna check if I'm alone...
I’ve had no problems renting directly from landlords, but usually stay away if they seem like they’d be a PITA.
Generally, Landlords are more likely to be flexible with you - they can do whatever they want with their house and don't have to adhere to some contract. Everyone is different though, so hard to tell. I personally would rather deal with a landlord due to their flexibility. They are more likely to treat you like a person of they don't have many rentals I think too, because it's not quite the same as a business - it's personal for them a bit.
Landlady is great. Just a text and she sends a plumber over.

Landlords never repair anything in your house. They also are iffy about if you drill into the wall where a property manager has specific protocols around repairing and repainting. It’s like stress of owning a house but someone else keeps the profit.
