#1 or #2 in terms of market cap is a useless metric. What matters to me as an employee and investor is that stock is going up. And AAPL going down hurts us all as everyone has direct/indirect exposure to AAPL through investments. What's more important is that blind rating of apple is 3.9 and Microsoft is 4.0. I always assumed it would be other way.
It is a very diversified business which is firing on all cylinders. Also, the CEO is a great marketing machine. Whether all that ever translates into great employee compensation remains to be seen. But lately, I’ve seen many interviews coming up because I am at MSFT. Hopefully, this will help when I am looking out in the future.
