I found Microsoft Frontpage on my family computer as a kid and started messing around. By high school I was a full-stack developer with an internship at Stanford University helping create their online learning management system. Learned iOS in college through an in-person bootcamp hosted on campus via a nonprofit. I just like to build shit I guess. But now that bootcamps are out 📉 what's the best way to get into AI/ML?
Learn about leveraging apples metal framework for on device ML/AI tasks and federated machine learning.
Join one of the orgs that have no ML expertise but just run example code like eleutherAI. You can get surprisingly far by just using hugging face libraries and putting in your custom training data.
If anyone would like to explore this together, DM me. Happy holidays!
Huggingface has free courses. I’m not in ML by trade - just been dabbling in it as an SWE for some side projects. Def feels like there’s benefit in a pseudo formal education (resources likely exist but I’m not quite at that point yet)
