Never worked there and probably never will, but seeing all these CEOs throw around lip service and “taking responsibility” while doing stock buybacks makes me appreciate Eric Yuan and his team. He made a sincere apology and gave up his bonus along with 98% of his pay (with exec cuts and bonus forfeitures). The company stock is down to 60 from 500-600 at its peak so it’s not exactly the best financial timing either. Zoom could have easily hidden behind many of the other tech companies and kept the bag but didn’t.
It kinda started @60, now back to where it was wiping all pandemic gains.
Shhhhh... How dare you point the obvious...
No salary, lower tax bracket, still a billionaire. Dont make him a hero over this. Nice gesture but not true altruism.
Agree. It was the first semblance of "leadership" I've seen at any tech company since layoffs began.
But zoom is known for lacking leadership and hardly anyone seems to know what they're doing.
@Zoom, zoom seems to be not only a place of horrible leadership.. it appears very low competent ppl holding higer places.. I was talking to one other guys he was like.. literally few faces gets tonnes of benefits.. rest are dry and sour .. I couldn’t see myself working .. Seems very political place
Zuckerberg has been making $1 in salary since like 10 years ago though. Perhaps he can further reduce it to 1 cent? That would be the biggest pay cut among CEOs percentage wise.
Didn’t that moron give himself and his team 150% bonus from target during 2022?
Does Zuckerberg get any additional stock on a yearly basis?
If you look at what he sold over the last few years, you'll see he actually pocketed many tens of millions. Forgoing his salary is only for appearances. He's rolling in dough but you don't know that so now he looks like the good guy.
Zoom is all about this one guy though.. If you remove CEO and CFO ( Kelly ) , rest of the leadership/ C suite are full of sharky low life .. which your momma won’t trust .. Zoom need better strong leadership.. otherwise the fall is inevitable
Leadership problems are fault of ceo... Allways... I No matter what... If you tolerate you empower...
The problem with Zoom specifically, is China tie.. I have friends who have deep mental health issues coz they are over working across boundaries.. and everyone know how hard to work with China people .. they have huge communication debt.. almost to a point of unworkable situation. Eric has very little control on these .. Rest of the leadership / C Suite should have picked up but are there only for individuals benefits I mean if they don’t care of foot soldiers who are here in US and rely on Chinese ppl for their flight .. well they should evaluate their stock price in yen
Ungrateful leeches in comment section. He shouldn't have given it up
The catch is that if he cared what they said and didn’t give it up, that would prove them right.
Certainly we can use some of this kind of accountability at Okta. Kudos to Eric Yuan! Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the ZM or OKTA stonks.
Billionaire founder gives up salary from his own company. How brave. Truly a hero to us all 🥲
Sorry you see the worst in every situation, I set the context and commended what I saw — have a good Monday.
@workday In this case, he is giving up salary for the employees not the company
