Resume Advice

Been with same company about two years. Recently had to change my title, including on LinkedIn, from research to something generic like strategy due to regulatory concerns/abundance of caution. The work I do hasn’t changed, but I consider new title a step down. How should I frame this on resume? List same (strategy) title all two years? Or separate it, notating the title change even though job description didn’t change?

I would probably do a slash. First (better) Title / Second Title

New line, new set of bullet points under the same company line.

Keep the original, better title. Your employer isn’t the one looking at your resume.

This was my initial plan - concerned that they will see new title on my linkedin or company website and assume I’m being dishonest.

Title isn’t all that meaningful. What is your management’s focus if they care about your title? I asked a manager once what title I should use and he said whatever you want. Call yourself the CEO if you want, it’s all about the value you bring, not the title.
