Applying for Sr. Product Manager roles in San Francisco. Would really appreciate feedback on my resume #resumereview
suggest rewrite by a professional
That bad eh? Where do u find a proffesional to rewrite it?
I used my pm fit for mine, idk if they’ll work for you though. A bit pricey
Why going for SPM when you've been a director?
It was in Europe I thought in sf I would need a step down because all director roles I see are ex founders of exits
The founder section sounds you have a pet project app that you're making out is a business.
It kinda is, but it has 2 paying customers
Thanks for the feedback though
If my funnel were lean I may glance at this, but considering how much talent is actively searching right now, I'd probably bin this one. Also, perhaps it's just me, but "0-1" is cringeworthy PM speak. You probably haven't even read Thiel's book (not that I have either). Even if you're adamant on using it, "went 0-1 on" is very unprofessional for a native English speaker. To provide some more constructive feedback, the bare bones are good. There's some promise buried in here, but a few things are holding you back and in some cases disqualifying you: managed a team but provide IC-level metrics, unrefined or unprofessional language, ambiguity as to areas of responsibility and your specific contributions, i.e. why were you necessary? No team-related or team health metrics for a manager of managers is also a red flag. Upward trajectory and growth in-role shows you are capable of learning, and time in seat suggests you have decent decision-making ability, but I don't see anything justifying that you could actually go 0-1. As others have said, your most recent experience sounds like a side project rather than a business. It suggests that you gave yourself 6 months of runway and then quit, or are looking to quit. Otherwise, you'd have provide details about your exit. Out of curiosity, did you actually roll up your sleeves and code this app? If so, kudos to you. Sad that we're commending PMs for actually being able to code something themselves in this day and age, but here we are.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll take it all onboard. I did roll up my sleeves and build it. But I used no code tool called bubble.io. It’s really good for PMs who are process oriented because it follows logical sequence and ur not looking at a wall of code
I’m curious to know how you would rewrite the side project. Tbh it was a side project but it has traction and customers.
Need language in simple flow. This is too textbook perfect to fit in all ATS, but tough to human read ! Even if you went 0-1, you can’t mention that thrice Everything can’t be a module either
Change the first bullet to say “designed, developed and launched a fully functional app as a single member” or something like that. Saying myself sounds too informal. I would just say “link” instead of “link to app” and color it blue and underline it. For the second role from the top. How many ppl were at this startup? If it’s like a small amount <50 then saying you did executive strategy stuff sounds like an exaggeration.
DM for SAP and anyone else for a referral!
There might be concerns about tenure since a lot of your roles are around 18 months. Hard to say if they'll care too much.
Is it not obvious that 2 of those 18 month stints were at the same company? They were promotions
