Do most people copy paste whats on their resume to their linkedin? Should it he different and how? Does it matter for SWE jobs?
Every recruiter and career center individual I’ve spoken to agrees it should not be a resume copy. My issue with that has always been that many of the people who view my LinkedIn don’t have my resume ahead of time, and the resume info would be valuable to them. Ofc, for everyone who does have my resume, my LinkedIn adds little value
LinkedIn should be a high level overview. For example the company, role and team maybe? This is to catch the recruiter's eyes. Resume should contain more information like responsibilities and specific work that can be attributed to you. At least this is what I think.
