Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
I was part of the recent round of layoffs by Google. I have been consulting lawyers about a potential EEOC claim around retaliation against strong/assertive women. However, the complaint won't have any impact unless its a collective action of atleast 100 complaints. I am curious if any of you feel that your layoff was a retaliation by your manager for being a "difficult" woman. Please reply to this thread and I would love to chat with you about potentially working on collective EEOC complaint. #bias #discrimination #broculture #bigtech
Lol, there was just a sexist post on women being arrogant. Was that your manager?
There are soo many of them all over. It could have been anyone. But thats why I am looking for others who maybe in the same boat as it can happen to anyone and the only variable between an otherwise 11 year solid career and one bad cycle is an incompetent leader.
Thanks for the chuckles OP.
You sound bitter. Come on now. Google is one of the most diverse and powerful companies in the world. You have no case. Sorry.
Also the one company that paid off Andy Rubin for sexual harrassment and covered it up? Also the search SVP? It also retaliated against Timnit Gebru and other women of color. All that glistens is not gold.
If it was that bad, why were you quite until you got laid off?
Lol

Naysayer please…
Lol don't worry. Your manager is gonna get laid off soon too

OK Ken.
I disagree, I have seen retaliation too. For being strong and assertive for both men and women, so I do t think it is gender biased honestly
Just because your experience is one way doesn't mean the data is wrong - https://cultureplusconsulting.com/2018/03/10/gender-bias-work-assertiveness-double-bind/ There is a reason we see strong armed male leaders rise - like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, etc but we rarely hear of equally assertive women at the top. Statistically we should see a similar number but we just don't.
Not dismissing your case but even within Google Ruth Porat is no pushover. She is both aggressive and competent
lol
