Return sign on bonus
Does anyone know what proportion of sign on bonus I need to return if I leave before year end? Also the bonus for first year tech analyst in gmd? If I leave now I need to pay back the bonus but don’t need to pay for the tax If I leave after I get bonus I need to pay the tax of sign on as well #tech #tech #goldman #sachs #bonus

If you leave before jan 1st you should expect to pay back the after-tax bonus. If you leave after jan 1st then you’ll be expected to pay back the pre-tax amount. It should say that in your contract. I dont know anyone that has done this, but I would rely on what your contract says and not what others have heard. Best case, it becomes a pleasant surprise you get to keep IMO

It should be in your offer letter or initial employee paperwork, how much you'd have to pay back
On offer says I need to “return it” which I believe it means the whole sign on bonus. But some rumors are there that only part of it should be returned :
