How are things at Rippling? Are folks happy about wlb, comp, career progression, path to ipo, etc?
Run
Any specific reasons?
You can check the blind ratings for Rippling, even worse than Amazon.
Run
I personally love it. The business is strong as hell, and weāre still working on some very exciting long term bets. IPO within 2 years.
Where are you getting two years from??
Wild speculation..
There is no upside here, either you get fired at 11 months or you get no refreshers or raises citing cost cutting reasons.
Refreshers are guaranteed at 2 year... Wut..
No they are not.
Depends a lot on team and manager. If you are on a US team working in a platform or infra team life is pretty š ok. Business is pretty solid for a non-fang company and ARR growth is good. Product teams are a bit brutal sometimes with launch schedules and there is a lot of tech debt to pay
Do EMs bat for engineers or are they playing to PM tune? EMs are supposed to shield and tackle?
Again depends on team. Platform teams and infra teams tend to have more engineering driven culture. Product teams are more impacted by product priorities
Even Infra/Platform teams can be very PM driven. Parker (our founder) is a PM and it shows. We are a product-driven company and PMs are very clearly on a higher pedestal than EMs/ICs. Thereās a lot of rumors on Internal Blind about PMs getting engineers fired (unclear how true this is). Some teams may be the exception, but donāt join hoping for a true engineering-driven culture.
I don't understand why people even work in Rippling at the cost of selling their soul?
Comp is pretty good even non paper money. The market kind of sucks right now and Rippling is a stable business as far as late stage startups go New CTO and his recent hires are a lot better than blind reviews talk about. If you actually want to have an impact going where things are currently broken can be more rewarding than being in a Rest and best place.
Yeah I worked in that place. I felt toxicity in air in office only.

Read any other post on Blind about the culture here. Itās fear and chaos and overworking. You can spot the HR generated ones if you see āitās not for everyoneā, āif you can deliverā or some of version of āwe intentionally overwork and are proud of itā. Itās not worth it, even for hustle mindsets. In fact especially if you are opinionated because the only way to survive here is to toe the line.
