I'm considering a Staff SWE role at Rippling. Offer is 550k with around half base to equity split. Product seems great and company seems to have great product market fit. I am concerned around company culture though. I've read a lot about people being fired on their 10th or 11th month and not receiving their first year RSU grant + minimal severance. Benefits package is very mediocre and leading me to believe they generally treat their employees like shit. So far I haven't met anyone as part of my loops that has had a tenure at Rippling of more than 1.5 years. Rippling-employees, what are your thoughts on the company culture? How true are these horror stories? #rippling #tech #SWE #startup
Just read blind company reviews, sort by helpfulness, and tons of threads here talking about culture and valuation. They are there for a reason.
Mostly there because we raised the eng bar a couple years ago and "ex-ripplers" couldn't find work during layoff season so they spent their time on blind.
Nonsense. Read only the reviews from the past year and it’s the same sentiment if not worse.
What were your interview topics?
Keep in mind your valuation is crazy over valued. I recently turned down a 400k offer from them
I would worry more about if you can survive 1 year to get the first vest.
FWIW, I’ve seen lots of Rippling applicants with 9-11 months of experience there.
Ie. Let go from Rippling right before the 1st vest?
Probably
Team?
I’m ex-Rippling. Getting fired before your first vest is real. People “disappear” all the time. It’s the sketchiest place I’ve ever worked. Being on a visa makes it so much worse, since the H1B clock starts. You won’t get your equity. Don’t join. Don’t trust whatever lies the recruiters and managers are telling you. It’s a bad place and your career, life, and relationships will suffer.
Where are you now? Google?
Read the reviews, excluding the 5 star ones that say “we’re not for coasters” and believe the review. It’s a soul crushing place to be. Negative psychological safety that effects mental health
I will not recommend this place to any of my friends or foes
It really depends. More than half of my colleagues and ex-colleagues stay here for more than 2 years. Comparing it with FB or Amzn, workload could be really high and be prepared for the ad hoc requests from CTO/CEO/PMs.

Does cardio help for weight loss ?
Yes plz. Rippling folks kindly help. I am considering a staff swe position as well.
Those that like it, really like it. It's not for everyone but if your team gels with you than it's absolute fire.
