Getting an EM offer from Rippling. What TC should I expect or be able to negotiate? Don't see good data for EM on levels.fyi Currently at Meta as EM from 2 years. 650k TC. 12 yrs total experience.
I don’t know if I trust a single one of those data points. Regardless, avoid Rippling. The only people that survive are bootlickers. You will have to ruin your reports’ lives to succeed here. Join only if you don’t have a conscious.
Wow really? I've heard it being a sweatshop so far but not the unethical place you're telling!
Being a sweatshop is same as being unethical to most of us.
EM are scapegoats at Rippling and most of them are fired in an year.
Lol
Rippling has an insane valuation and likes to fire people before the 1 year cliff. Investors have some special clause to make sure they can exit with some profit, but your RSU does not.
Due tell. What is this clause
This is a very standard thing for VCs. VCs get preferred shares. That’s why the “valuation” we raise at doesn’t really matter. Greenoaks certainly has a massive preference over everyone else after they raised our Series E.
What comp did you end up getting? Did you take the offer?
I don't think they can pay you $1M for a line manager EM role. Also the equity is inflated value because it's private company. I would avoid joining them as they are notorious for replacing US based hires with Bangalore based engineers due to their founder being a FOB Indian.
Yup, expected. They're one of the top paying companies in all of Bangalore
Equity is inflated? Their valuation has stated same from 2022 to 2023 while many other startups with inflated valuations lost most of it by 2023. Do you still think valuation is inflated? Thanks for your response and other points look worrying to me as you said.
