Cute girl on the floor
Hi All- I’ve been wanting to get out of sales for a while now. I can mentally pump myself up through the ups and downs but for the last year I feel like I’m always on the verge of a mental breakdown and envision quitting on a whim far too often. I’d be interested in renewal manager roles, sales enablement, CSM, something a bit less pressure heavy. ANYWAY here is my question- with layoffs everywhere, is it safest to be in a revenue generating position assuming you are performing? I’m skeptical to leave for a different role type and that is viewed as a cost center rather than generating $$ for the business. Maybe that’s the mentality that has made me stay! Lmk your thoughts.

Same I think about this a lot
OP, what org are you in? I’m in the same boat
What would you go into? I think it’s just tougher to get a job in say product without 5 years of product experience…
You can easily run your own business or startup or do something fun with your skills. What is it that makes you sad, angry, or frustrated? The issue with jobs is that now there are too many unemployed and quitting is not the best idea even if you hate it. it might take a while for the market to reset. Work on building something that replaces your income as you continue to work there. :) You can do multiple other things. I have done the same for myself.. Ive been in your shoes and I'd advise people to take a step back and approach this logically before rage quitting.
