Surprised this is not getting any news cycles. RH switched to quarterly reviews and according to recent internal blind poll 20% are getting PIP/PEP. I was targeted. Had high rating for years and then suddenly got low rating and PEP despite working harder than I ever have this quarter. I'm not sure of exact percentage but I'm my org I know it's at least 10% getting PEP. This in addition to surprise RTO and it's clear leadership is trying to accelerate attrition without the stigma of layoffs.
Fak, I was sad when they didn’t give me offer even after an amazing onsite interviews 1 year ago. Reason: position no longer needed due to reorg. Please try again later. Dodged a bullet. It was for soft engineer for infra tooling.
What’s PEP? What’s your role and level?
It's pip under a different name. Basically made up evidence to support future firing decisions. I'm mid level SWE
Might be : Performance Enhancement Plan
A garbage company does garbage things. And people say that Amazon’s toxic weaponized PIP system isn’t being practiced by other companies looking to manage out people without laying them off—the same thing happened to me at MRM and I will never support this practice as an executive or as an employee. What is the alternative? Fire when necessary?
Simple. Only use PIP in instances where there is clear evidence that an employee is underperforming at their level, and attempt to rehabilitate them first before letting them go. Even then, a demotion is better than out right cutting them lose, especially since they would likely be able to make more contributions at a junior level. After all else fails, then send them on their way with severance. The problem with PIP and stack ranking is that is rewards office politics and Machiavellian scheming as opposed to genuine contributions and collaboration that isn’t tied to a direct goal. If you make candidates jump through several hoops and get poor candidates who quiet quit and leave after a few months due to a toxic culture, it’s your fault, not the candidate’s.
I suddenly feel less bad I got rejected outright by resume without an interview.

Did you not see the last quarterly report? The executives pay themselves billions in stock comp but burn almost that much in cash. That’s why people have to get laid off. Terrible business.
I have a hr call with robinhood right now i am thinking even if i get a job weather to join there or not
Regardless I'd say interview so you aren't rusty
RTO is the way. Would love to work at Robinhood

What’s the count of Infra at RH?
