Robinhood stock lending
Anyone tried it ? Sounds like a no brainer to opt in. Any loopholes/pitfalls to be aware of ?
So, you want to earn money by lending your stock units to HFS while they short the float ? Why ?
What does short the float mean? I just understood it as allowing them to lend my stock while I'm doing nothing with it. Pls help understand what's the caveat

Why would you want to get paid devaluing your stock?
Not recommended. Short squeeze work in the theory that volume is limited. Hood offering 3-4% while saving squeeze is absolutely horrible. Also you can't sell CC while lended.
It’s a great way to make like $0.15 per month
Instead of stock lending look into premca extra. Same idea of earning yield on your stocks that just sit there but with some advantages. First they don’t enable short sellers. Second they pay a predictable rate on all your stocks. With securities lending most stocks aren’t even eligible and the ones that are may pay for a while until demand dries up. I’ve been a client for a few years so far so good. Interest is 2%/year extra so for every $1m that’s +20K/year on top of however the stock does. Beats 0 and has paid for some vacays.
