Sign-on bonus: $50,000 Base salary: $300,000 Stock options: 100,000 (30k options granted yearly - strike price will adjust) Current strike price: $6.50 The target strike price in 4 years: $25 No yearly bonus YOE: 22 Current TC: ~$550,000, but no chance of growing much in the future

Why is it so G*damn difficult to move money out of India
Why would you even consider this given your current TC?
Paper money with no value in a long time
This aged well 😂
Its a good offer for some but not for you
Good offer! Feel free to DM if you have any ques? Work culture, wlb, growth.
Hi can I DM you for a referral?
What do you mean strike price will adjust? Isn’t the strike price set on the day you join?
@above yearly grants will potentially have different strike prize dude due to 409a. Anyways, I compute ~700k TC based on original grant alone. So questions for you: (1) are you passionate about this space or is it just another job (2) how much do you believe that they can execute on their vision and hit those numbers. Depending on your answers to the above the overall answer changes. My opinion, in it for the long haul and I think the company vision and its people are very strong.
I’ve never heard of such options grant, where each year during vesting time the strike price changes. Isn’t that unfair to the employee? Companies that give RSUs don’t even do this.
@oofingman I believe is talking about Refreshers. So you may have been offered X options for 4 years initially. The strike price for X is determined on your initial grant that will not change. However if after 1 year you are offered more stocks (as refreshers) the strike price might be different than the strike price of X, in case 409a has changed.
Will Roblox offer refresher?
Hi, is the Roblox Level on levels.fyi correct? I was told by recruiter there are only IC1-IC4, and senior is IC3, principle is IC4.
There is IC1-IC8. 3 and 4 are senior. 5 and 6 are principal. 7 and 8 are technical director. However, IC4 is considered terminal, anything above that is exceptional. There are very few IC6 and above in the company.
Thanks for your reply. But I see 2 Principle in the team I interviewed for. I was not happy about the level(IC3), I have 8 YOE and all interview feedbacks are positive. When I was negotiating levels, recruiter told me there are only 4 levels and IC3 is Senior.
Question, is Roblox current value per share below $6.5? Refer to https://www.vcexperts.com/prime_unicorn_companies/17a221c1-d03c-46ec-b8f7-c87ed9d11754.pdf So how do you calculate your option? You can’t use targeted price in 4 years. When you calculate TC from a public company like Google, you use current price not targeted price 4 years later.
Are you familiar with the premise of options vs public company RSU? Options granted to new employees are usually at FMV. So lets say you get an offer from Roblox today. Your strike price (which will be same as FMV) will be around $6.5. Which means you can buy the stock at $6.5. Now you might argue that in essence your value is 0, since you buy at $6.5 and currently if you sell at $6.5 you make no money. However the premise lies in the growth opportunity that this $6.5 might become $25 in 4 years as opposed to a public company stock which might grow a bit slower (again thats not always the case). You can join Amazon and their share might skyrocket in 4 yrs , with inherently less risk since they are already public. Not sure what your question is but if think roblox will match TC of your google offer with just their base, thats not gonna happen. So its upto you to take that risk, or join a public company which is much more risk averse in that context. Feel free to DM, if you have an offer from Roblox and have some questions.
