Roblox vs Snap

Hi all my friends on Blind. I recently got an offer from both Snap and Roblox but I’m not sure which one I should go with. The TC from Snap is about 36k higher than Roblox. YOE: 3 yrs Snap pros: 1. I’ll be working on a backend project, which is my interest since I wanna work as a backend eng for my career path. 2. TC is 36k higher than Roblox cons: 1. The project sounds pretty trivial and may prove to be non-profitable. 2. Since Snap is trying a lot of different things, if the project I’ll be working gets cut, I’m afraid there will be layoffs. 3. The manager technically comes from a different background. 4. There is no senior members on the team. Roblox pros: 1. The team members and the manager are really nice people and excited about me joining. 2. The company is doing good from what I hear. The culture is great. 3. Project is challenging. cons: The project I’ll be working on is to build a cross platform UI framework from scratch, which is something I’ve never done before. I’m afraid this would change/limit my career path to a different direction. Any thoughts here? Is Snap doing massive hiring for company growth but will also layoff people if their projects aren’t profitable? Thanks a lot! #engineering #software #swe
