As the title suggests, having a hard time choosing between the two. Both are giving similar TC. Any help? Location - Bangalore Yoe - < 3 years Current TC - 45 lpa Getting a decent hike (don't want to share exact numbers to keep it anonymous) Edit 1: Will share the offer once I accept. Anyways it's still under negotiations. TC is in the 60+ range, with 30+ base. Rest is equity and annual bonus. Edit 2: Google L4 Rubrik G6 #software #swe #rubrik #google #offer #faang
Share TC else don’t expect responses
Hard to give a recommendation without numbers. It helps the community too if you share Google / Rubrik expected TC and level. It'll still be just as anonymous..numbers aren't really affecting this in any way. There are plenty of people shopping around.
Thanks for updating the post OP. Both are great options. Its a question of what are you looking for. In Google, from my totally subjective personal experience, expect: 1. slow career progress - your comp might stay constant for a while unless you jump ship/promo. 2. Personally, I'm not quite confident of my learnings here being useful for doing the things I might eventually want to do - like building a startup, using tools outside G. There's a tech bubble that simplifies writing code and challenges are in the form of problems that are entirely different from what other companies might face. Learning is at a relatively slower pace, it's good if you want a chiller corporate life not so good if you're trying to maximize learning. With that said, - great culture / wlb, good people and managers - I'm not sure if Rubrik does the learning part better, but I guess you'll have a higher amount of ownership there Note that given recent ipos, upside of Rubrik stocks could be potentially high. And no, this is NOT the same as buying stocks from your own money (like selling GSUs to buy XYZ) because the stock grant is already invested with money you don't have (like a large margin trade). So your current grant of say 90k USD could be worth 200k or more over four years (or not ofcourse). The risk trade-off is for you to determine. Google is low upside, low risk, low learning but a high wlb kind of trade imo. Also, why is Goldman even an option 😂 Please add more details on the distribution of the numbers once you have them + include an upper limit instead of just saying 60+. I think you'd earlier written 65-70, I'm not sure what inspired you to change those values. It helps if we try to create a win-win community here, irrespective of the trolls around. :)
Thanks for the help, Google. I felt 65-70 is inflated from Rubrik, and hence I value it at 60+ (60-65 lpa range). Google Recruiter said she will give a very competitive offer, which will lie in a similar range.
You don't have to share the exact numbers but round off numbers with base, joining bonus and stocks break-up would be great. This keeps the market standards updated.
TC or GTFO
Don't you think it's unfair that you expect help to be only one sided?
Updated. Will definitely share the exact details once I have selected.
And maybe any Rubrik guys can help?
Rubrik is not liquid TC, you can sell google shares in case you want. Rubrik is riskier...
If base is similar ie 30+, Rubrik doesn't make sense as Google RSUs Trump Rubrik Esops anyday. I would consider Rubrik only if base was 45+. Google gives good refreshers too so your TC will only go up there
Rubrik is giving RSUs and not ESOPs
Gtfo
Google Also share tc yoe role etc Make it a poll
Good idea. I am fairly new here. Why Google?
