Careem is part of Uber, right?
Yes
No, it’s not
High profile resignations of most directors and some VPs and Ankur(CFO) in Q3 and Q4 are normal part of M&A with Uber but hide the fact that some executives have been given free reign to do as they please with no accountability with documented cases of harassment, nepotism, favoritism, double standards aka politics that are not in check
The super app is behind schedule and nowhere close to release. Part of that team was laid off as a result of bad performance
Careem is far from turning any profit soon. Cutting fixed costs by 20% and closing key markets was a way to address the $~200 million deficit of the company
Glassdoor reviews tell a story of a company culture that’s decaying - HR has tried to reverse that by asking people to post positive comments https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Careem-Reviews-E1438731.htm
Uber Careem deal hasn’t closed in Pakistan. A country that accounts for 30%+ of Careems business and the most promising market for future growth Sidenote: careem is focusing its hiring in Pakistan and downsizing Berlin and Dubai offices
Absolutely true
Very true
Careem has already lost most of its market share to Uber in the Middle East. In key markets like KSA and Egypt its market share is below 30%
This doesn't make sense. Why would Uber do the acquisition if Careem is losing market share to Uber?
I have friends in KSA. Careem is the mainstream ride sharing service. What's your point? Why are you spreading misinformation? Are you angry because you were laid off?
Gender diversity at careem is low and executives have windowdressed it in the past but it remains a company with only 1 female executive (out of 12) and largely male workforce
Who is that femail executive?
female*

Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
It was recenlty announced that careem is laying off 5% of its workforce to cut costs and expand its verticals. A HUUGE chunk of this story is being misrepresented in the media
Damn...don’t leave us hanging!
What part of it is being misrepresented?
