Is it worth it to stay in SAP domain and does Salary matches with FAANG or good product based company if you become really good at ui5 ?? I'm working with ui5 since last 1 year but still not able to enjoy it. Mostly because I've no mentors, I had to tackle support tickets which are just lot of investigation and then get big enhancement CRs. Since I already have good knowledge of python and basic knowledge of other things like cloud, data viz, django etc I feel like even if I dedicate myself to learn ui5. My work will always depend on project / client and it will not be satisfactory for me. Also I have no interest in learning ABAP so whenever some odata service issue happens I feel like I don't know how everything is put together in back-end... Thanks for the reply. I'm trying internally to change project to some different tech but module lead is not letting me go. Although I want to get out of SAP but sometimes I have FOMO of sapui5 hana analytics cloud CDS. Then I see salary & job posting hardly could find any with excellent pay and under 2-4 yoe
Main thing is that with SAP tech you will always be doing stuff for enterprise under some service based or small SAP product based company which is not bad but mastering other open tech stack gives you so much opportunity for freelance, build your own projects etc.
Learn some current tech like Go or Rust and get out of SAP
