How? Genuinely curious. Are you referring to in an economic sense? Or like that you think unions slow down the process of innovation by nature?
I think that for a "small" studio that had to operate under Activision Blizzard's terrible reign for so long, this seems pretty sensible for them. Pay is one thing but I'd imagine having more control over your contracts will really help them.
