I was asked how much I should be expecting as compensation. I didn't give a number as I wasn't sure what Amazon pays in San Francisco. What do you guys suggest? For someone with a Masters in CS and a little over a year's exp.
Damn how do you get an interview for a sde1 position in SF. I've been looking for those forever and most of the positions here look like sde 2
A subsidiary
Btw most places that have SDE2 opening will be open to hire an SDE1 too
Devices team
250k base
If only
First, ask for range of TC for the position. Keep asking if the recruiter doesnt want to share. In state of california, companies are legally obligated to share that info. This way, you will at least have your baseline and not ask too low or too high
200k TC
180k
I’m a L5 in Bay Area with TC as 240k for first year (which is mostly base and bonus since only 5% RSUs vests for year1). That should give you an idea for L3. Maybe around 180-200k TC first year.
@ethanhunt7 what’s your base?
Yeah I was wondering what the base salary should look like.
I’d say base would be anywhere between 130-150k
Any ideas if the app experiences mobile team is good on SF?
