SQL Live Interview - Hackerrank
Role: Data Analyst Does anyone have experience with a live tech screen on hackerrank and can share about it ? Any and all helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. They just give you a prompt, give you a few tables, and ask you to write a query to solve the prompt. Sometimes you can run the query to see results, but in most cases I've seen they usually say it won't run, they just want to see your logic. Usual focus is on Joins (inner, left), aggregation (sum/avg), window functions (row_number, rank, running sum), where clauses, and case whens.
What’s the TC??? My job has me learning sql I wanna do data analytics if it pays 💰
I would recommend you do some SQL questions on Hackerrank prior to the interview so you can familiarize yourself with the UI and stuff. The format of the live tech screen would look similar to the SQL questions on the platform just that the interviewer can also type on the screen if I remember correctly.
This is standard interview practice. Did you not have this at Apple?
I was at Apple for a couple years and even back then I did not have to go through too many tech screens. So I don’t have a lot of experience in this.
