The cloud business heavily relies on startups. With SVB shutting down, startups are gone, and Amazon, Microsoft, and Google will lose many valuable customers. Revenue goes down, which implies more layoffs. If you're working in a cloud related business, you should start leetcoding now.
Cascading failure
It's the reverse of thundering herd problem
How is it a good thing in the long run?
Why is it good?
Leetcode to which company? Dude it's all a cycle
Heβs saying start Leetcoding so you can join cloud companies back when recession is over.

Pretty much all of tech has its hands on cloud, directly or indirectly. Except Meta.
So in meta, everything is deployed in personal laptop, or on metaversr. π€£π€£π€£
They do everything on prem only.
Maybe take a breath and see how things play out before declaring the sky is falling?
Took a breath and woke up to the SBNY news. Should I take another breath or what?
Still not a systemic issue from the information available. Fed has said depositors will be made whole.
I don't think one bank failing is going to change the startup failure rate, which was always something like 90%
But when a bunch of startups fail in a short period of time, then it becomes a big problem.
Public companies have enough floating capital to go on a buying spree for good startups. There are some very good ones which will be sold at lower value. So, cloud will not loose it all
Startups make up a lot of cloud customers but thatβs different from money spent. The biggest cloud customers are Fortune 500 companies.
Exactly
Yep. OP is quite uninformed. Companies like GS spend multiple millions of $ every month on AWS. A rather well known SV startup I used to work for with millions of DAU spent < $100k a month.
