SWE curious if the grass is greener @ F

Newly minted L4. TC 235k. 4 yoe. 2 at G. Fairly happy on my team, seems like a diverse background with pretty good wlb. A couple of friends jumped ship to FB, claim work is more exciting but loads of tech debt which may be a good thing for impact. Culture seems to be focused on shipping first thinking later, opposite of my current gig. Leadership seems less cheap about offsides, snacks, cost-cutting. Thinking about making the jump, unsure what my equity grant and base pay bump will be this year but I’m not holding my breath. Looking for at least high 200 to low 300 TC for it to be worthwhile. Seems doable but at the edge of the band, maybe if I blow away the interviews it may be possible. Under no condition would I make it past 1 year as E5. I have a so but no kids and they have mixed feelings about the rumors of significantly worse wlb and greater pressure to perform even if comp is there. Any ex-G, now FB have any opinions? I’m looking for signals to tell me if prepping for the interview is worth it.

Curious here as well especially the wlb part. I don’t have kid and I want to work hard. But I have headache from time to time so I cannot guarantee work long hours otherwise headache will get worse. So a good wlb is important

Disclaimer: I'm not a xoogler If you interview really well you'll get E5 offer at Facebook. With competing offers comp can get to about 300 TC but I don't think much higher given your experience level (meaning, F knows they just need to offer more than anyone else will) wlb varies a lot by team. If you are careful in team selection, you can pick a team where you don't get overworked. E5+ have a lot more options in team choice so I'd say it is only worth it if you can get E5 offer.

Really talk to them and figure it out. See if they post diffs at late hours or weekends often, investigate yourself it's all open
