Been in Intel for about 1.5years. 87k plus 13% geo + bonuses around 10k this year excluding RSUs. How does this TC compare with similar job level in other companies, say Nvidia,Apple? Update: This for hardware.
Which location is this. Sounds shitty salary if Bay Area. If not then enjoy in east coast
100k base including geo diff for 1.5 years exp does not sound bad for me
Actually I take it back, you are right s89
Outside Bay Area this is awesome for 1.5 years
I get around 110k per year including the bonus. How about Nvidia,Apple for similar grade?
Without location this is useless
For Bay area??
You're doing on average for Intel, which is to say you're heavily underpaid if you're any good. Mostly because Intel does zero equity. ICT2 at Apple you are looking at 150-200 total depending on overtime.
For hardware?
Yes. At Apple or any other good company. Google has hardware eng as does Facebook now. You’re underpaid if you are good.
Depends. I know someone junior to me who started at 128k including geo differential. Grade level bump at Intel is useless because someone who is level 5 still gets 13 percent geo while a level 7 does not! You can make more as a 5 than a 7. The pay range is broad and the lower your level, the more geo differential you get. By level 9 you only get 3 percent. Useless.
Outside of Intel I think people make a lot more @ 3+ yrs. Yes, in hardware :)
Precisely. Leave Intel if you care and can.
Seems hard to find another job in hw with 4 years of exp. Entry barrier for hw jobs seems higher.
Interesting. Have you been actively trying and been shot down? If so, at what stage - resume or on-site?
Resume. Most rtl design related roles at google/Apple requires 5-10 years of exp.
Are you expecting a grade 5 to grade 6 promo this year or next year? Did you talk to your manager about it?
I didnt talk about it. For this year, I think it is too late right?
Your manager should have told you by now whether your performance was successful or poor or EE.
