Hello folks, Can someone help me with the salary expectations for the Director Role in Nutanix India. Have one round of discussion pending and want to set my expectations right to decide on the offer TC 1.3 Cr YoE 16
This quickly turned into AMA. OP I think very few people would be able to advise you here.
Well, I love to share my experiences, so don't mind AMA :), regarding your second point.. Is it because not many Nutanix directors here?
10yoe sde or pm median could be 70lpa including rsu. multiply by 15% for 6 yrs, u get 1.6cr. multiply your current tc of 1.3cr by 30% (industry standard hike), i get 1.7cr. so i would go ahead and ask for 1.8cr with justification for the additional 10%. I assumed all numbers include rsu. use the same method but do it for only cash part. negotiate on the cash part Interested to know is current tc 1.3cr all cash? is nutanix giving all cash?
Current TC is 90 cash plus 40 rsu.. Nutanix do offer RSU's. I'll anyway fight on cash component. Thanks for the advise :)
Nutanix stock is not doing very well though, but yes getting a grant right now will have upside in future if tables turn
Yeah agreed, the stock has kind of flattened over the last one year
Hey dude. Sorry for again going off topic but what skills should on focus on early in their careers if they want to become a director someday?
👀
Take active in architecture discussions, ERP processes and be technology agonistic, on soft skills, stakeholder management and working on how to create replacement for you from the team are few things. I'm assuming you are still with Amazon so the 14 business principle's which they have try to practice them in your day to day work without thinking just in your project silo. I feel that will help you crack and mid senior to senior level interviews when the time is ripe. I'm not saying that my method will always give you positive results but it might help you
Recent Staff(Equivalent to Senior Manager) offers have been touching 1.2 cr at 9-10 yoe . You should definitely aim for atleast 1.8-1.9 cr .
Thank you. These numbers really sets the expectations right
directors could have more bonus & stocks, and less cash. keep us posted on the breakup % once you make it. atb!
How’d it go man? Please share your experience when you can.
All rounds went well, hopefully will be hearing from HR in the coming week, process is slow and I understand given the current situation
Did you get the offer? :) What did you do

slightly off topic, but as a director what are the major responsibilities you carry, is it defining the charter for the team for the years ahead, getting hands on yourself etc. etc. or something else
Along with the points which you have mentioned, the additional responsibilities will be stakeholder management and ideating new ideas for the business and working in collaboration with the PM's to find new rocks
How deep technical one needs to be after getting to a director level? Tech changes fast and there are like too many things to learn... any advice on that? Is leetcode needed at Director levels also?
