Got an offer from Boeing in California for LV 4 “Lead” Software/Cyber blend role at 190k with 15k Sign on. The positions pay band ends at 197,XXX so there isn’t much more room to ask for base, what creative things can I counter with? Ask for more base? PTO hours & higher Accrual rate? A larger sign on since Raytheon is giving 40-50k for some roles. The other companies I’m interviewing for have pay bands anywhere between 160- 230k however this is my current highest offer. Need help negotiating. TC: 161k base YOE: 4 + Masters #salary #salarynegotiation #offer
That's a great offer. Above the 90th percentile for L4 software engineer pay and a decent sign-on. Pretty rare at Boeing, especially with only 4 YOE, but we are desperate for software engineers. I wouldn't ask for more unless you get an offer within 10K of it, then you could ask for RSUs or a higher sign-on. Boeing has been giving out RSUs. You should probably only come to Boeing if you want to rest and vest though. It's a pretty demoralising atmosphere if you expect your team to do work.

Thank you AAPL and NVDA
I don't have a ton of insight but do you mind if I ask where in CA? I have asked for a larger sign on bonus previously (RTX ended up bumping my base pay instead when I asked) and I have seen some companies (Aerospace Corp in my case) offer retention bonuses after 1 year to remain competitive.
In the LA area. I’ve heard of retention bonuses and I know they are making rounds here at Northrop as well for those leaving and the company trying to keep them.
