Salary evaluation, Seattle area

Is it worth to move to Seattle area from Denver? The base of the offer is 160k maybe able to push little bit more. The company is likely go to IPO in next 2 years. And I like the opportunity with growing business. Stock option after IPO could value between 80k-100k per year. We are family of 3, my wife can work remotely and have 2 years old boy. Current TC is 150k. Private company no way to go IPO but very stable.

Food options in Seattle are much more diverse, generally higher quality based on what my Denver colleagues say. What do you like and dislike about Denver?

My food experience visiting Denver was awful. Places gave big portions but it was all bland AF

Housing costs are awful, but you could probably pull off an hour+ commute at that TC. No lower though.

I wouldn’t change states for only 10k more, p sure Seattle is higher cost of living than Denver . Weather is better in Denver too. Ski resorts are better too.

In WA you get more take home money without state income taxes. I did the math a while back and I could actually afford the higher COL with the difference

IPO in 2 years is something you should absolutely ignore while evaluating your offer

IPO timelines are aspirational and never a guarantee. Can you live off of 160k/yr?
