Hello guys!, Is there a different between negotiating salary when coming in newly as Engineer I and when you want to move from Engineer II to Engineer I in Amex? Secondly, If an SDE engineer II earning a base salary of 110k/Yr wants to get promoted to engineer I, how much increase would you advise he negotiate? Also, Can anyone help with how much an engineer I earns on average at Amex? Thank you.

EII to E I is a progression so without any SVP approvals we can do 5% in US and 10% in inflation markets.
Anything above 5 % would require SVP approvals.

Your best bet is to negotiate at the offer stage if that's the intention In my experience, negotiations are very political after you are hired and expect an uphill battle for them
