I'm currently a GL27 software developer with 10 years experience. I am starting to feel that I'm being underpaid by industry standards and was looking for a second opinion as to whether I should continue in my current role or begin looking elsewhere. The reason I've stayed the past 4 years was due to sponsorship/visa needs, but now I have recieved my green card through a different source and no longer need company support. It seems like making an internal switch is also very tough because the raise is pretty small and recruiters always lowball internal employe My base pay at this time is $100k with an annual bonus of $4-5k, and I also never got a signing bonus when I joined (certainly because I never asked due to my visa need, as saying goes you don't get what you don't ask for) . Annual raise is between 3-5%. I would appreciate any insight or advice anyone can offer on this subject. I'd also appreciate any reference if possible
Get out of that shithole company.
Minneapolis? If so, yes grossly underpaid. I declined a position at Optum for a sr software engineer role and the base pay was $115K. Could've probably went as high as $125K base
Get out asap
Why are you still at 27 with 10 years experience. I was hired at 28 with 4 years experience. Ask to be promoted to 28/29 in the upcoming review. Or just leave if you are confident to crack an interview.
Yeah either get more or dip. New 27’s are coming in at 90s with little to no exp. depends on area if your in Y or Z zones

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
Yes you’re severely underpaid. Grind LC & system design and leave. With your GC, you have so many options.
