Isn’t Sales Tax on used car double taxation The person who bought the car brand new paid tax on the MSRP say 50k. I buy the car from the person for 40k, now I have to pay the tax again on 40k I don’t get it. Can the original owner get some kind of tax refund after selling the car
The person who owned the car should have been able to claim back some of the taxes paid on the new vehicle at purchase. Depends on the state but federally can be done on your taxes.
Taxes don’t make sense. There’s no logic. You’re trying to apply logic to the government, that way lies madness
Stop voting blue! Taxation is theft!
The reds made my taxes go up so I don’t think they’re better
You get to deduct your trade from the amount taxed. You only pay tax on the difference.
But it doesn’t make sense, if I am selling a 60k car to buy a 40k car, do I get a tax refund ?
