Sales and Marketing at AppDynamics

What are people’s thoughts on Sales and Marketing at AppD? Lots of posts on estaff and Engineering, but don’t hear much regarding the other organizations. Exploring an opportunity in marketing there.

They suck. I work at Cisco and we bought them. Their whole culture suck. Also, they are so understaffed, work-life-balance is 0. non-existent. You always have to be at customer site. And you know what’s best? You don’t even get a car. Also, you don’t get money to buy a car. You have to buy it yourself. And car allowance is a joke. Much lower than Cisco’s car allowance. Also, they are VERY arrogant, like „we always hire only the best people!“ but what can they offer? Not very much... also, looking st Glassdoor, most of those reviews are FAKE. And now they are still some sort of their own company BUT sales has to use BOTH tools: G-Suite for AppD internal und everything else for Cisco stuff (Jabber/Spark etc.) it’s a total chaos. But if you want to go to sales or marketing go to Cisco. Not AppD. Cisco has much more opportunities. If you have more questions, DM me.

What can AppD sales offer vs. Cisco? Well, about 50% more pay, better quotas, better accelerators, better club, better QBR’s/SKO’s, better expense policies, actually selling a cool product and not just collecting PO’s... should I go on? Also, who the hell even wants a company car? I expense my miles...

I got to admit that this poster is spot on. Comp plans have been drastically reduced post acquisition, the competition is getting worse with companies making up a ton of ground, and the culture throughout the organization is just ugly. People will be your best friend and then throw you under the bus for their next promotion. I’ve seen it everywhere in the organization. Ultimately, if that work environment appeals to you...then put in an application.
