Hello, I have a offer from Walmart labs as IN4 (Salary 34.5 LPA base+25%variable+25% RSU over 4 yrs). I am being interviewed @ Salesforce and most likely will receive offer from there as SMTS in Industry Cloud unit. 1) What should I expect as salary from SalesForce 2) I am looking for better WLB and techstack, Based on discussion with both I felt Walmart has better tech stack and Salesforce has very old techstack. Is it true? Can someone advice, which is better company to work for? YOE: 10
If you're giving priority to tech stack, industries cloud shouldn't be your choice. Other than the tech stack though, I think SFDC is better than Walmart in every way.
+1
Thanks for sharing. Would you be able to provide info about tech stack in industry cloud in SF. Reason I am asking is HM said it's not decided which team/industry I might join. What I heard is there is all monoliths and on Java also no spring boot framework, it's very old framework which Devs work on. Because if that is the case then getting job after SF tenure will be difficult.
Ask for IN5 at Walmart.
Thanks for the tip, but I heard IN5 at walmart don't have much chance to get their hands dirty, and mostly involved into managing team delivery. Like scrum masters, Is it true?
There are different roles under IN5. People Managers, Product Managers, Architects and Project Managers/ Program Managers. For example, architects can still get thier hands dirty doing PoCs, no one stops them. The one you have mentioned are Project Managers, they manager delivery and scrum.
Please don't join Walmart, unless you hate yourself
Any specific reason you mentioned this? I mean is WLB soo bad? Or any other reason
It's overall a pathetic place to work. I worked there and it was the worst. Managers throw you under the bus, lots of politics, managers think software development is like a manual deterministic job so they expect everything to be done very quickly. They won't hesitate to call you at 11 PM even for a trivial issue. People skip pager duty alerts all the time and it's chaos. No one is interested. Attrition is more than 30%. Walmart guys are even banned from blind ( new guys can't signup because they have blocked the work email). My friend tells me all the new graduates who joined have Given up work and are getting on zoom calls to prepare for the interview, during office hours. Just imagine how bad the situation is. If you don't believe me check other blind posts and Glassdoor reviews. It's an absolute shithole. Never ever join walmart
Hi, i have worked at Walmart and currently at Salesforce as SMTS. Industries cloud is part of core and you would get exposure to full stack with mix of proprietary and open stack. Walmart has bad wlb but good tech stack. I'll leave it to you to decide but i will suggest the one having greater CTC otherwise both are at par.
What should I expect the package in Salesforce? Given that I already have one offer.
65+(45+ base) if you negotiate well.
Walmart
You can ask for IN5 at Walmart and package can go upto 85-90 LPA for 10 YOE. Trouble the recruiter and be ready to walk away from the offer.
I did that and the recruiter walked away
LMAO
Current TC ?
Walmart has lowballed you , you should ask for IN5 with 10 YOE
Yes I thought so too..
