Nice, welcome to the remote family! đ https://www.sfgate.com/local/article/Salesforce-announces-permanent-remote-work-for-15937901.php
If only commercial real estate could be shorted...
You can short commercial REITs
Shorting a bull market ? Risky. Market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. REITs pay a 6-9% dividend. Retiree favorite
Smart choice. Reduce headcount expenses after employees relocate. Next smart choice would be to move HQ for tax perks.
Will CRM adjust salaries when moving to LCOL area?
Yes
@YYuO18, do you know by how much? Say, for Florida or Texas?
PM me for referrals
Are you hiring for ml engineer role?
not sure, if you find vacancy that suits on our jobs site please feel free to DM
How about tax implications for a remote employee? For an employee at the San Francisco office, he will still have to pay tax to California even if he is permanently remote as the office address listed on the W2 is still San Francisco. Does the company allow change of office for permanent remote?
Taxes are based on where you live, not where your office is located. California is about to see a bloodbath from lost tax revenue with so many companies going remote. Couldn't have happened to a better place.
So many as in Twitter, square and sales force? Not too many engineers in those anyway
How does this affect H1B employees? Don't they have to work on site?
They dont have to.
For ZG, they have to be within 50 - 60 miles of an office. I am assuming this might be the case for most companies.
Cries in Amazon
Yay!! This is one of our biggest customers and vendor. Hopefully AWS follows.
Lol, my manager can't wait to get back in the office. Andy Jassy can't either. It's not going to happen at Amazon
Thatâs ONLY your manager. If By June or July (an aggressive estimate now with variants) if customers are fully accustomed with attributable cost savings and linked revenue to going remote - itâs unlikely to go back to the way it was whether or not your manager and Andy want it. Itâs ultimately comes down to costs and cultural/industry shifts not the whims of one or two people.
I have a friend who is a manager at Salesforce told me itâs not for all. Just for employees who need not be in the office (basically most of the times need no collaboration like HR etc)

How did this happen? (Meta Stock)
I am confused. Are they going to support permanent remote work? Or a hybrid remote work setup where you are expected to be in the office one or two days a week?
It is in the article: "Salesforce introduced its âWork From Anywhereâ strategy, estimating that more than 65% of employees will adopt the new system, based on a company survey." So I understand it as 65% work permanently remotely. I don't think they mean "work from anywhere 2 days a week", LOL
There was another article about this with more detail, hence my comment - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/salesforce-employees-can-work-from-home-permanently-2021-2%3Famp
