I pretty much got an offer instantly after reversing a dictionary and detecting a palindrome. Is that normal for Salesforce? I read here they hire anyone. I was really disappointed after I got the offer finding out they have such a poor engineering culture.
If you equate someone’s experience with the difficulty of coding challenges, THAT IS exactly what’s wrong with our industry. We are digging ourselves into the ground of Dynamic programming, what’s next? Implement DP in assembly language on an alien machine.
Welcome to the Ohana!
Well SalesForce is really not into tech space so asking Palindrome itself was not required I guess...they are an application company and they are using tech from aws...so kind of explains what kind of people they are hiring
I share similar experience. I have cracked their complete set of interviews and got offered twice. So I know how you must be feeling.
Do you mind sharing the offer?
Are you coming in from college? Or a recent graduate? Salesforce is easy to get in when you don't have a lot of experience but harder if you're a senior coming in. From the teams that I've been in, we've had open positions for senior developers for > 6 months and couldn't get it filled. I had one where they wouldn't even look at an external candidate because they had a hard time getting good people.
Just reinforced the argument.
Meh. We're not Google if that's what you're thinking. Salesforce is a huge company. There's good and bad inside. But yeah, we're not the best. If you can get in to FANG, by all means and don't look back.
What do you mean by reversing a dictionary?
Asking the real question here! A dictionary by design is unordered.

A well-respected company offered you a job and the problem is...? If you don’t want it, say “no thank you”. You’ve got lots to learn in life and career, grasshopper.
It is not typical in Salesforce. But they don’t have an enforced centralized process for interviewing and dilution of the process is possible. The group that dilutes the interview process may not be a good destination to make your technical career. However, you should be happy that you got in because the chance of getting a hire is about 1/7 or less after you are invited for an on site interview.
Applies for job, gets offer, is disappointed because it was too easy for them Lol
Well a job is a job. You can always go try for G or Fb and double your pay.

That’s a low TC.. is this a position in Bay Area?
