5 months package. After holiday. Non performance related. Compared with those which are definitely planning a cut with similar size but under the hat of PIP, it's much much better.
Wish I could volunteer to get laid off with that big severance
It should always be performance related. Wtf are you smoking.
Expect “performance based” r seldom actually based on performance; more like mgr picks someone and creates the story to justify it is perf based.
Why is “not performance related” a good thing?
Less mess up.. I have seen mgrs picking people based on diff criteria ( one of them was “someone who’s life will be least impacted” ) and then harass them to make a perf-based layoff case..
It could just be those people who didn’t meet expectations in the last reviews, doesn’t have to be a new list of low performers
It's a minimum of five months (based on the tenure and the designation, some got more).
What’s the immigration support offered?
Not performance based is just a nice way to put it.
I heard layoffs were only for people who got impacted today and that it's not a continuous thing. Will more people be fired as time goes or are the survivors of today safe now?
I would love a lay off with 5 months severance tbh.
Easier said than the trauma of layoff and finding a new gig
Yeah, but the silver lining is you’re forced to grow to find a new role and you get a 5 month cushion
