Salesforce vs Walmart india offer
I have got offer from Salesforce and walmart. Salesforce: 38L+15%+$63k/4. SMTS(55LPA) Walmart: 38.77+9.25L+ 9.25L/4 + 10L joining bonus SSE (50.33LPA + 10L one tine joining bonus). Also has refreshers every year. How much percentage hike Salesforce give every year? Current CT: 30+ 0+ 11.5L/4 Y.O.E : 7.5

Walmart offer looks ok and there is also a yearly rsu refresher of 25%(from offer i guess you are in4) spread over 4 years. Work and wlb wise in IDC it isn't all that bad. They are going through a tech refresh and based on the team you may end up working on latest and greatest. If you liked the profile they described go for it. Company multiplier this year was 125% ..so even the meets expectation( 85-105% indiv performance multiplier) ended up getting far more than what was originally promised. P.S: I joined 9 months back, was awarded an ee with a 12% hike inspite of not being here for the whole year purely based on delivery impact. The teams I worked with seems to be doing good in terms of quality of work and WLB. But again I was told it wasn't so before I joined, even in the team I am part of, as idc took time to find its footing(bulk of ownership was primarily centered in US..its now more evenly split). Am not sure of wlb in US etc as I do still see teams which gets paged during issues outside of work hours in US.
OP - do not join Walmart please! Search for Walmart or Asda or Walmart Mexico on blind to understand how poor it is to work at Walmart. I m just waiting for an offer letter and I will jump the ship!
Don’t let the money at Walmart sweep you away. I know money is important but the work and the systems at work are also important for your sanity. I’m not saying Salesforce is the best and has no issues at all but definitely should be better than this shithole.
Walmart CTC is less. So here money is not deciding factor. I am looking for tech and job satisfaction.

Add 4-5 years, and I was in the somewhat similar boat. Few points that made me run away from Walmart : 1. It's eCommerce. The work is shitty and you are expected to put in long hours. 2. The Managers in Walmart are just a shy away from Amazon in terms of evil. 3. The culture of Walmart, though better than many, can not be compared to Salesforce. Salesforce is a generation ahead. 4. The hiring (& firing) in Walmart is based on your usefulness in short term rather than based on your potential and past contributions. Atleast this is what I felt during the hiring process. And it was one of the best decision I made in last decade :)

Walmart might be good may be around 3-5 years back but now it’s entirely a shithole. Bulk hiring has caused the talent bar to go down significantly and even for the good folks the sharing of domain knowledge from us folks to India has been a struggle if you want to hustle for 12 hours a day and have 0 WLB come here or else please go for SF. It can’t be this bad at SF.
