https://www.businessinsider.com/salesforce-layoffs-fear-amid-performance-pressure-2022-12 Resigned in last week: - Bret Taylor (co-CEO) - Mark Nelson (CEO, Tableau) - Stewart Butterfield (CEO, Slack) - Tamar Yehoshua (CPO, Slack)
Why ppl care so much about these layoffs? Selling boba tea makes way lot more tbh.
Are you taking orders for the tea?
That’s my plan if I get laid off
The rumor is Monday, 5k employees from all divisions and ranks. We laid off a few hundred sales people a month ago. But yeah, we're just dragging this impending doom around over our heads now. It's almost a hobby at this point
The only people dragging the "impending doom" around are people like you who keep spreading this narrative. There are *no* signs of layoffs. Salesforce itself has not contributed to this narrative at all.
Is this just salesforce or across all orgs like tableau and mulesoft and slack
I failed to understand the logic about the hiring after Covid. Not only for Salesforce but for Tech in general. What happens now is coming back to reality. If I am let go I will find a job, may be with lower pay, may be in smaller company but there will be advantages as well - up to date tech stack, more influence on the business.. Each week I read articles about thousands of companies failing to find SDEs in Germany.
The elite just want cheap labor dude, if they complain about not finding workers it means they don’t want to pay good wages. As for the tech fallout, just poor business leaders that made terrible bets. They thought humanity would change during the pandemic and everyone would be plugged in matrix style when people just want to do the same things they’ve always done. The real mistake is thinking these leaders are competent and not just extremely lucky. All it takes is one bad decision to tank a company, it’s nothing new.
I completely agree that leadership is making incompetent decisions and when they fail the company nothing happens to them, still get huge payouts and even better positions somewhere else..
Too many L1 transfers to US (the number is unlimited unlike H1B). The US was a magnet for tech talents from all around the world due to high TC. Sadly a bubble always bursts at some point.
I just want to get this over with. Internal blind channels are filled with layoff rumors and it’s been like this for months. Everyone is anxious af. Just hope management would be more transparent and provide more answers.
What is an internal Blind channel?
The Salesforce channel on Blind.
If those executives are living there is less chance of a layoff. One of those pay package would cover 10k employees
Why is Salesforce always in layoffs news? They should cut once and cut deep and forget about it. Rumors hurt more than layoffs themselves
Salesforce does layoffs even when the economy is strong and they are growing like crazy. They just love laying people off.
