Problem is all ratings have a flaw and mostly opinionated and maybe has a lag as well.. you see san francisco 2015, 2018,2020,2022 and 2003.. there's a stark difference... pre 2015 was great 2018 had slight issues 2020- covid made it completely empty 2022' because it was empty and due to existing issues it became scary 2023- slight action and recovery, but no way near pre 2015 level or even 2018 level
Bro the entire west coast is deteriorating at a very fast rate. It’s undeniable. I don’t care what “statistics” someone shows me about this. I can see it with my own eyes. Democrats have destroyed the west
That is the epitome of anecdotal data. Perceived feelings can be important but it in no way the whole picture that stats do. Much like stats don’t show vibes.
what was its rank 20 years ago
I mean, some of what they said is true, doesn't negate the problems in SF though, and we should be trying to better the city
Especially when San Francisco is possibly the wealthiest city in the world depending on how you measure it. They have endless resources in the form of tax revenue, yet it is collapsing. It's almost like a reverse Detroit.
The true part is that there is less violent crime in SF than many other cities in the US. The problem is that nuisance / property crime is very high in SF. This is much more noticeable because it's much more likely to affect the average person, whereas violent crime is relatively rare everywhere.
I wonder what party those cities vote for, overwhelmingly? I wonder what party controls those city's governments? The world may never know.
At least it’s not the same ones in charge of actual dangerous cities like Nashville
I’m not sure what you mean. Nashville votes blues as well. This conversation is getting weird.
I love how people resort straight away with the immature name calling when a topic touches them in the wrong place. Agree or disagree, the derogatory name calling and stereotyping on all sides is so 2nd grade. I'm probably doing a disservice to 2nd graders.
Imagine being blessed with the best geography and weather the world can offer and you compare it to flyover states lol
Once you split the crimes into violent and property, the difference in ranking vs perception is easy to explain. SF has low rates of violent crime relative to St Louis, Detroit, Baltimore, Memphis and high rates of property crime and homelessness. No, FL and TX do not have more homeless than CA. The concern about abortion laws is valid but most cities are safe for LGBT+.
Did you really just do this? Did you actually?? Absolutely offended. Cannot believe it. Deliberately leaving out the Q I A and J, - and /.
Americans are really good at whataboutism
My point is - I would go to sf solo n walk around past sunset in 2014.. Now I would rather not go there in daytime. You are comparing - SF (city) with TX and FL ? nice job
The comparison was for cities in those states
I’ve spent a lot of time in Memphis and SF. I feel safer walking around Memphis than SF. Memphis has bad crime but it’s generally localized to orange mound and a couple of other neighborhoods you hear in rap songs

Manmohan Singh: elected or selected?
“Copium” = statistics? “Radicals” = people who say things could be improved but they are demonstrably better than elsewhere?
LOL. Funny how objective data has been the enemy of the far right for a very long time.
