San Francisco is never going to be same

Just read a article sf is apparently dying due to lack of economic activity. There is no sign of employees coming back to in-person office. I myself spend less on clothes, Starbucks, lunch, gas as I am working from home. https://www.google.com/amp/s/finance.yahoo.com/amphtml/news/might-time-companies-san-francisco-224801171.html #remote Tc - 350k Yoe - 5

It might be time for companies in San Francisco to call employees’ bluff

SF is dead, but that’s not why

Monkeypox?

SF is coming back down to earth and stabilizing. The COL will become slightly more in line with other coastal cities and then people will fill empty houses

TrueCar clcktwr Aug 12, 2022

This happened in the 60s 70s 80s when white ppl left SF for the suburbs. This allowed SF to become the vibrant city it was known for. Only possible when housing becomes dirt cheap due to rich ppl going to the burbs

DraftKings XTnC27 Aug 12, 2022

Agree entirely. I'm in a MCOL east coast of city with a much wider spread of ethnic and socioeconomic groups

Meta xOTW71 Aug 12, 2022

Same with New York

TrueCar clcktwr Aug 12, 2022

Not true. More live than prepandemic

NYC is bustling.

Meta oTFA27 Aug 12, 2022

People have been trying to kill off SF with drugs and high crime for years. Tech has finally stopped propping up SF. The fake libs of SF will finally get their wish when all the techies move to better cities. It will be glorious

Totally agree with ur take except “better” cities. SF is supposed to be a beautiful and welcoming city with rich history. Of course all these idiots ruined it. I still think SF is better than most other big cities that are currently trending.

The only disagreement I have is… SF is not big…

Uber Press F Aug 12, 2022

It’s because of the human poop and needles everywhere. Until they deal with the homeless issue, it’s not really safe to explore and do things. I say this as an SF native.

Pinterest devnully Aug 12, 2022

I saw homeless camping out across the street from the SF Department of Building Inspections (on van ness)…. Oh the irony

PwC pxrip Aug 13, 2022

But how to deal with the homeless issue, put them in camps ? When I see the current state of homelessness in the usa, I cannot find a solution

Airwallex henson Aug 12, 2022

What do you mean by dying? The area will go through phases of growth and decline but it’s not possible to die unless it sinks or something.

ADP AVou03 Aug 12, 2022

NYC feels like it’s not it as well

DoorDash yNXL03 Aug 12, 2022

The article is toxic garbage. No one owes SF a damn thing.

NVIDIA nvidiot Aug 13, 2022

This!! NYC twisted arms to resurrect itself and the article brags that people are scrambling to find housing in an area tied with the Bay for least affordable in the US.

Goldman Sachs GoldiL0cks Aug 12, 2022

Who cares about nyc when rent is so ridiculously expensive? It’s a total scam

Meta xOTW71 Aug 12, 2022

Yeah what is there to do besides drinking and hookups anyway. It’s only good if you’re attractive which is any city.

Goldman Sachs GoldiL0cks Aug 12, 2022

Basically. If you’re an ugly introvert it’s a total waste
