Deciding between the three for next year new grad. AWS - seattle - ~185k (return intern) first year TC - Not a huge fan of my team wlb atm, seems like a lot of oncall/ops work Bloomberg - NY - ~205k first year TC - No idea on what i'd be doing Scale AI - NY - 146k base, 20k signon, idk option math but ~230k first year - haven't heard fantastic wlb things here either but apparently great for career progression Thanks guys! #swe #newgrad
I’d say Scale AI > AWS > Bloomberg
In this economy, go for AWS or Bloomberg
Scale AI has a lot of problems to solve that each would result in a huge impact across the company and AI industry as a whole. While these problems are HARD and often demanding from a WLB perspective, the career and learning growth you get is very significant compared to FAANG, quant, or anywhere else. As a new grad, there really aren’t much better places to work if you want to be in a very cross-functional and high-performing environment surrounded by brilliant people that inspire and motivate you to make an impact. It’s also a lot of fun! But it’s not perfect and it’s not an easy job for sure. The company has been improving year over year, and my personal sentiment on growth/outlook is very high. Scale is also doing better than most tech companies despite the macroeconomic slowdown. Compensation is competitive and reward for hard work and promotions are some of the best, if not the best, in any industry. You will still learn a lot and have great mentorship, structure, and resources at Amazon or Bloomberg. Your work life balance will be much better there. But those companies will always be around while Scale is going through an exciting growth phase where there is still lots of room to improve, grow, and shape the future of the company
Agree with all this. I was promoted after 9 months.
If youre on visa and will probably go for a new job after some years, dont go for Bloomberg. Or else, go for Bloomberg
can u please elaborate on this?
+1 why no Bloomberg for job hoppers on visa?
