Screw Tik Tok?
Got a Tik Tok offer in my inbox. Did some research on the culture and pretty much only hear bad things (996 culture/horrible WLB/Slow growth unless you speak Mandarin/everyone quits at < 1 year). I'm currently at AWS doing Solution Architecture but looking to leverage that to transfer to SDE (manager says it's way easier than applying from outside). Should I accept Tik Tok Full stack offer or stay and leverage Amazon to switch? AWS TC: 160 Tik Tok TC: 190

Choosing between Amazon SDE and Tiktok SWE is just picking your poison. Stay at Amazon and keep interviewing.
It’s gonna be team dependent. I actually have a good team with a solid WLB (40ish hrs) so make sure you ask questions your concerned about to the hiring manager.
Same as previous commenter - I came from Amazon (which I liked - big up to the LPs lol) and also enjoy it here at TT. There are issues around culture here at TT but in my experience it's very team dependent. But I'll have to rebut your comments on 996 and WLB - there's no 996 here, and WLB is pretty standard to what you'd find at other FAANG.
