Looking to buy a 2010 or newer home in a Seattle suburb with good schools. Will be commuting to either South Lake Union, Fremont or Kirkland. Which suburb should I choose for my family? Bellevue and Redmond seem too expensive for what you get, so looking at Bothell, Kenmore, Edmonds and Issaquah. Would like Kirkland, but it seems outside our 1.5M budget. 450k TC
Wow none of those are seattle neighborhoods those are suburban shitholes try ballard, fremont, queen anne. Live in a fun place life is short. Walk to things w ur fam
homeless, needles on sidewalks, druggies and crime …
U sound boring
Curious why Issaquah is so popular in this poll.
Those are very different options. Personally, Edmonds or Kenmore (or Lake Forest Park). Kenmore isn't much of a town though, more of a stopping place on the way to real towns. Commute on 522 can really suck. Even worse from Bothell. Edmonds has real charm and IMO long-term growth potential to be one of the nicest towns in the area (it's already decent). If you're looking at "unincorporated Edmonds" out on 99 though, just forget about it and go to Kenmore or Bothell. Issaquah is the middle of nowhere, too much traffic, nothing to do. Unless you really love hiking.
Seattle’s Magnolia or Queen Anne is top notch. Schools are good. Though you might get some older homes for 1.5M or smaller lots.
Without knowing the specific campus you are going to commute to it is tough to comment. All you listed are fine communities. Issaquah to Fremont for example would be a rough commute. As a non Indian I would put Edmonds and Issaquah a good clip above the other two, but I know Bothell is desirable for the India crowd, just not my cup of tea.
Currently commuting into Fremont, but it's possible I could transfer to the Kirkland office. I also want to be in a fairly flexible location in case I change jobs. I've been interviewing with companies based in Bellevue and another place in downtown Seattle. Issaquah does seem a bit far out. Is the commute to Bellevue or Kirkland ok from Edmonds?
All are soulless. Issaquah marginally better if you like nature. And please leave bothell for Indians. Let them have that shitehole.
Is Issaquah even doable with 1.5M.
If location is pretty flexible for you, those areas are all pretty great. I would look more at your other criteria such as home size, lot, yard size. Sometimes a deal just comes up and you just fall in love with. Feel free to dm me if you dont already have a RE broker.
Would highly recommend Kent
