Seattle’s weather is not as bad as I heard
I moved to Seattle from Southern California last year because of job. I missed great Los Angeles area so much from Nov-March due to gloomy weather here. I actually thought of moving back. But, the weather becomes so nice since mid April-blooming flowers, blue sky, green tree, and comfortable temperature. I hear Seattle is grey and gloomy for 9 months. It seems not true for me. So, is this year just special? As far as I experience, as long as you can survive the 5-month gloomy season, you will enjoy the rest.
This winter was not as gloomy as previous couple of winters. It was sunnier and a bit colder now, but it's usually a bit warmer and drizzling for months. Like 2 years ago, it didn't stop raining for like 3 days, non-stop rain. That kills you without trips to AZ/CA and some bright lights at home
November to February greatly sucks. Not mid USA or easy coast sucks with crazy Temps where you can't go out -- temperature is mild, but so damn Grey. Watch out for SAD and you are OK. March to May and September to October are mixed bad and good. June to August are among best in the world -- warm with a cool breeze with everything green and blue (water and sky).
Grey and gloomy maybe 5-6 months. Fucking gorgeous summer and fall here.
Its get really frustrating with kids .. You cannot take them out and they eventually develop bad habits like more screen time etc.
You can take them out. It rarely rains heavily, they’re not going dissolve when exposed to moisture.
And dealing with consistent bedtime when the length of days varies from 8.5 hours to 16 hours.
Yeah if you can get through March - October, the rest of the year is nice. Today I have two ACs running in my 800 sq ft apartment. Thinking of buying a third before it gets worse.
Global warming (if you believe in this kind of stuff) is making wonders to Seattle's weather! 😂

The 9 months is exaggerated. If you can get through Jan and Feb, its great otherwise. Nov, Dec are cold but it's the holiday season so everything is decorated and generally everyone is in good spirits.
Yea it's more like 10. Even a few days in August are cloudy.
