How does seniority work at Google? There are positions I may be interested in like Architect Principal Engineer Technologist Technical Program Manager Engineering Program Manager... Do some of them pay better than some others just because of the role, irrespective of the years pf experience? Do Program Managers get higher pay than Principal or Architect or Technologist? Some of these manager positions require only 5 yoe. Thanks.
Technologist is a fake word the finance industry uses
'Technologist' reminds me of 'Software Engineer'. It always amuses me that us coders refer to ourselves as software engineers. We just write code. But I guess it makes people feel better.
Principle engineer is L8 and way different role than like a technical program manager
Do TPM’s make it to L8 ?
Hmm I've only seen L7 tPgM personally but I haven't really looked at the ladder

We avoid titles like architect and technologist because they mean shit.
