Got an offer from a series A startup. The equity part is approx 0.1-0.15%, 4-yr vesting. It is expecting to close a series B round EOY, by the time my equity would worth approx 600-700k total. As a comparison, a major player (that has ~50% market share) in the same industry currently has a 20x market cap to this post series B valuation. I guess maybe assuming my equity would eventually go 10x if the startup goes well. Is it worth joining this startup? Current TC: 400k
Are you sure that they are going to close a series B round? They like to say that and it never happens
I thought most series A usually gave 0.25-0.5%. But if it’s growing that fast I say go for it.
Sounds like a good opportunity. If I were you I'd go for it. Lots to learn, and good expected returns if startup is even 1/4th as successful as the competition
