While I do like the impacts I can contribute as an engineer, and there is still a lot to learn, I am considering a switch in career in a couple years, once I have enough saving to try another career. Perhaps becoming a physician. I don’t know. I don’t like doing the same shit and writing the same code over and over again at each new company. Management seems like another alternative for me, at least I will deal with emails, lol.
Its just work. Dont let it be who you are.
Yeah, but 8 hours a day though. 5 times a week.
If you can’t do 40 hours a week, then you picked the wrong career.
I swapped to management, for new challenge and career. I was sick of eng just being keep head down and 'study leetcode harder than others'
Just started my career and am already tired of it,
So sad indeed
I would love quit job, and be in startup builfing phase! ( been in that mode before. Why not now: need a pay check, benefits)
For me this is just gaining experience. I want to quit and do other stuff too... need that paycheck as well
Love what I do (career); just through with the industry I’m doing it in. And apparently changing industries is some sort of Gordian knot; it shouldn’t be this hard... Been actively trying for 2.5yrs+, bunch of interviews, no offers. And I don’t apply to positions I not well qualified for...
Ugh if you are in Security and defense industry, ew, I would feel disgusted too.

Where is "Stuck - need to ride it out"? Just life decisions, commitments
I resemble that remark.
